Multi-tasker Skills Suit for Seed Role

Delivering the best customer service possible is Lynn Dilger’s primary objective at RAGT New Zealand.

She joined the seed company after 18 years as a finance manager with a Christchurch manufacturing company. Her initial administration role at RAGT has expanded to incorporate a range of activities across the business.

The move to RAGT was a return to agriculture for Lynn who spent a few years with Canterbury corporate farming enterprise Applefields, working mostly on its dairy business.

“My role at RAGT is varied and that means no two weeks are ever the same,” Lynn says.

Lynn is engaged in wider customer service duties, including managing the documentation for  sales and dealing with seed growers.

“I pride myself on my attention to detail and that’s proving useful when it comes to dealing with all the regulations in place for seed imports and exports to and from New Zealand.”

Lynn is focused on improving the efficiency of document handling for RAGT.

“It’s so much easier to manage all the contracts with our systems in place.”

She also oversees the dispatching of seed to contract growers and for the export market.

“My finance background means I like to things to balance, but my attention to detail is critical to my main goal of providing the best customer service,” she says.

“We want our customers to know RAGT as the company that goes above and beyond when it comes to service.”

Lynn is looking forward to attending the annual Women in Seed forum in Christchurch on Tuesday, May 21, organised by the NZ Grain and Seed Trade Association.

“It’s such a great event for meeting our customers in person and enjoying really interesting thought provoking speakers on topics that will help set the future for the seed industry,” she says.
